Meet Our Team
We are Jenn & Amanda, two moms who met at church in spring of 2023 and decided only a few weeks after meeting to launch a business together. They say when you know, you know right? We pride ourselves on warm and welcoming communication towards all our clients from that first inquiry, all the way to sharing our final goodbyes. The overall guest experience is always top of mind, which is why we intentionally gravitate towards small party bookings. Amanda's Why
When I met Jenn, I had no idea we would become fast friends and business partners. As she shared more about her experience in the wedding industry, my little idea to open my home and share my property outside of family and friends became a big opportunity to host the most beautiful and meaningful events here. When you're here, I want you to feel like family too.
I believe Jenn and I have a unique opportunity to show love to our community through West Pond Woods. Everyone who chooses to host a milestone moment on this property has a story to share, and I look so forward to hearing it.
'm a licensed Marriage Commissioner within the Province of Manitoba. I performed my first ceremony back in 2021 and am delighted to offer this service here at West Pond Woods.
Jenn's Why
With experience in the wedding industry, along with nearly a decade in both photography and digital marketing, I was the girl brought on to help execute Amanda's vision and dream of turning her home residence into a micro-wedding venue and backyard event space. Everything I have done in my professional career has been in the business of making clients smile. My focus is to work alongside you to craft a day that reflects your unique journey and creates lasting memories for both you and your guests.
I'll never forget walking into Amanda's backyard for the first time. She had invited my family and another over for a "get-to-know-each-other" BBQ, and from the moment we arrived, I was struck by how warm and welcoming Amanda was. Her description of the yard had been humble, but nothing could have prepared me for the stunning beauty that awaited. As a photographer, my first instinct was to ask, "This view is incredible—has anyone ever asked to use your yard for photos, like weddings or graduations?" Amanda laughed and shared that it had indeed happened. The rest of the night flowed effortlessly, with great conversation and good food, and we didn’t speak of the yard again.
Another several weeks went by and Amanda asked me to come over for a walk around her yard so she could pick my creative brain about a few things. The following "dare to dream" chat was the inception of West Pond Woods and our partnership together. While Amanda's property is undeniably picturesque, it’s her graciousness and warmth that make partnering with her such an honour. West Pond Woods is not just a venue; it’s a reflection of the beauty and love that Amanda infuses into everything she does — and it’s exactly the kind of place I am honoured to be a part of!
Our Location
Our cozy cottage inspired backyard venue is located in St. Andrews, 20 minutes from Winnipeg's North Perimeter and 5 minutes from South Selkirk.
This scenic 1.6-acre property features a mature forest, stunning gardens, walking trails, a rock-wall waterfall, a peaceful pond, and a charming fireside area. These natural elements create a picturesque backdrop for wedding photography, elopements, and intimate gatherings, ensuring that every moment is captured beautifully.
